Jurassic Park, 1993, PG rated in the UK and USA
Favourite Scene - the lawyer getting eaten off the toilet! |
Multi squillionaire John Hammond has set up a "biological preserve" on a Costa Rican island. He's been having trouble with his staff being eaten, so he wants a group pf experts to check his little project over before opening it to the public. Among these experts are Alan Grant the paeleontologist (dinosaurs), Ellie Sattler the paeleobotanist (plants), Donald Gennaro (the lawyer) and Ian Malcolm the chaotician (predicts it's all going to go wrong).
The experts arrive on the island and can't quite believe their eyes when they see a real, living Brachiosaurus eating from a tree! After announcing they also have a T. rex and showing them a hatching baby Raptor, Hammond sends the experts on a tour into "Jurassic Park" and give it the thumbs up.
Everything starts out well, until evil computer geek Dennis Nedry starts turning off the huge electrified fences! With the fences off, the humans have to avoid being electrocuted, rained on, eaten and frozen to leave Isla Nublar alive! |
The Lost World : Jurassic Park, 1997 , PG rated in the UK and USA
Favourite Scene - "There's a dinosaur in our backyard" |
A rich family on a yacht cruise find a little island with a nice beach and dock to enjoy the sun. Their daughter discovers a cute little group of... er, she thinks they're birds or something... and doesn't make it back to her family.
Those silly humans didn't realise they had landed on Site B, Hammond's secret breeding ground for Jurassic Park's dinosaurs! Now Hammond must send a new team of experts to document the island and ensure its ecosystem is safe.
But wait... Hammond's evil nephew sent another team to hunt down the dinosaurs for a new Jurassic Park being built in San Diego! As the dinosaurs decide that it's more fun to eat humans that simply chase them, the two teams realise they have to work toghether (like it or not) to get back to the mainland.
One little problem... after sailing back to the mainland, the T. rex escapes from the cargo hold of the boat and starts eating San Diego. Can the T. rex and all the other dinosaurs be rounded up and sent back to Site B? |
Jurassic Park ///, 2001, rated PG in the UK and USA
Favourite Scene - Wait, I can hear the Kirby ringtone! |
A man and a young boy are paragliding in the restricted air space around Isla Sorna (aka Site B) when, you guessed it, the boat is wrecked on rocks and they make their way inland.
The young boy's parents are the Kirbys, wannabe millionaires who realise there's only one man who can help them - Alan Grant from the first JP movie. They trick him into going with them to Isla Sorna, which they mistakenly think is Isla Nublar (the first island with the actual Park on it). Of course, when they realise it's the breeding ground, not the actual Park, they need to escape with their lives.
After being ambushed by ultra-intelligent Raptors, hassled by a Spinosaurus and chased by Pteranodons, the remaining humans realise there's one person who can help them... Ellie Sattler (first JP movie again) to get off the island. Will she send help in time..?
