It started off innocently enough in October 1999... a back bedroom in a newly built house. Over the next 5 months it would become the coolest room in the entire known Universe. |
First it had to be plastered and allowed to dry out, then the JP designing could begin! After painting the ceiling and inner cupboard white, a squiggly pencil line was drawn where the jungle pattern would be, all the way round the room at waist height. |
Now for the fun part! The top halves of the walls were painted red, almost all the way down to the jungle line... |
... and then the bottom halves were painted yellow, right up to the jungle line... |
... and finally, very carefully with a small brush, the red was painted down to meet the yellow line (and to go very slightly over it in places to avoid gaps). After completing the walls, the skirting boards and door frames were painted in red gloss. Since all the painting left to do would be at the other side of the room, the JP curtains finally went up! |
After the red gloss parts were finished, the yellow gloss parts were painted. This included the inner and outer cupboard doors, but only the inner room door. The last thing to go in was the grey carpet... |
... followed by loads of JP stuff! And there you have it, a Jurassic Park bedroom. Sadly this house was sold a few years ago, so I hope whoever's in there now hasn't painted over my masterpiece. |

UPDATE - May 2005 If you can't paint the room you're renting, here's the next best thing... Mwahahahaaa, serves it right for being such a gay colour!! I moved out in June 2006, so who knows what the Hell I'll do to the next room I decide to decorate?! |
