Escape from Miami- Prologue

2013
In the early 21st century, a doomsday device was activated, shutting down all technology in the world. At that time, Cuban forces launched an attack on the U.S., thus taking over Florida. The president of the United States issues the whole country under Martial Law. In an attempt to restore technology in the United States, the T.E.C.H. is formed. Their goal is to restore all technology in the U.S. by Thanksgiving Day 2014.
2014
On Christmas Day 2014, the U.N. declares the world “At Peace” for the first time in hundreds of years.
2015
At 5:30 am eastern time on June 15th, a Category 10 hurricane hits Florida, making everything from Miami to Cape Coral an island. On July 12th, statistics show that crime has hit an all-time high in the U.S. In October that year, the president declares the island as a prison facility, as he did with Manhattan Island and L.A. Island. Encamped like an army, watchtowers guard the shoreline, making escape from the island impossible. Once a citizen has lost his or her citizenship, they are sent to this island and may never return.
